The IMAX Corporation and Twentieth Century Fox recently announced that PROMETHEUS will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX 3D format and released in IMAX digital and film theatres domestically and in a select number of IMAX theatres internationally, starting JUNE 8th.

“Ridley Scott is one of the best storytellers of our time, whose groundbreaking films Alien and Blade Runner changed the landscape of the science-fiction genre,”
said Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. “We’re excited about Prometheus and proud to add him to the prestigious list of directors whose films have been presented in IMAX.”

The IMAX release of Prometheus will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX 3D Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
