Psy-Ops for Bold

It seems LEGION director Scott Stewart is keeping busy, even outside his directing duties. The Hollywood Reporter have word today that Bold Films just scooped up a flick based on an idea from Stewart and Gus Krieger.

The flick is a sci-fi/action thriller called PSY-OPS and follows a covert U.S. military unit of psychological operatives who specialize in exploiting their target’s deepest fears. When on a routine mission to the Amazon Basin, they discover something more terrifying than they could have imagined. Sounds pretty cool. Stewart came up with the idea then developed it with Krieger, who’ll pen the script. Stuart Maschwitz will be making his directorial debut. How does Maschwitz tie into the mix? Well he co-founded the visual effects company Orphanage with Stewart.

Now PSY-OPS has nothing to do with the video game PSI-OPS but does seem to follow a similar road. Bold are planning on ‘combining the elements of such 1980s action flicks as “PREDATOR” and “ALIENS” with the psychological tone and visual realism of such 21st century movies as “BLACK HAWK DOWN” and the “BOURNE” series.’ Sounds all good in my book! What do you guys think? PSY-OPS have potential? We’ll keep an eye on this one and will update you all once we hear more.
