Well, much like TERMINATOR SALVATION, the success of THE PUNISHER: WAR ZONE depends soely on whether the film is PG-13 or Rated R. Well that’s my opiniion at least and I think it’s a fairly reasonable one. We’re talking about a man with nothing to live for and only revenge and death on his mind… how can that NOT be Rated R?
Looks like the filmmakers agree. Your asking yourself what the hell I’m talking about right? Considering it was announced recently that the film, will in fact, be rated PG-13.
Well don’t worry folks, there’s still a shed of hope for WAR ZONE! Apparently the guys over at ScreenRant got wind on a few things said about the movie, a few things said by the flick’s cinematographer Steve Gainer! Gainer goes on and sets a few recrods straight, mainly saying how director Lexi Alexander is still very much a part of the edit process (contrary to earlier reports that she was removed from the project) and that the flick COULD NEVER be rated PG-13 and that it will most definately be a nice, hard R. He mentioned a few other things apparently, you can head right over here for the dirt.
This is all good news to me! At first I totally wrote off PUNISHER: WAR ZONE, soley for the lack of a man named Thomas Jane. Slowly but surely the film scooped my interest back up, with decent posters, violent trailers, and Julie Benz (below). I’m looking for a very dark, gritty, borderline noir PUNISHER flick… here’s hoping!
The flick is set to hit theaters this holiday season, perfect right!? It’s coming out December 5.. and even though I’m giving it a chance… no Jane is still not OK in my book.
