Quentin Tarantino fans may still end up getting to see THE HATEFUL EIGHT and sooner than we imagined. After his first draft of the screenplay was leaked online and his lawsuit against Gawker was thrown out of court, Tarantino has apparently calmed down a bit and may begin filming the follow-up to DJANGO UNCHAINED this November.

According to Showbiz 411, Tarantino has been continuing to edit and revise THE HATEFUL EIGHT and is working on a third draft. He previously floated ideas of publishing the screenplay in book form and also did a live staged reading of it in Hollywood featuring potential cast-members Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell, James Remar, Amber Tamblyn, Walt Goggins, and Zoe Bell. Almost all of those actors appeared in DJANGO UNCHAINED. Noticeably missing is Christoph Waltz with whom Tarantino has worked with on his last two films and has won an Oscar for each.

Quentin Tarantino is always a director we love to see new films from and his output has only become more diverse with each film. THE HATEFUL EIGHT would mark his second western in a row but all indications are that this film is nowhere near the same tone or style as DJANGO and follows more along the path of an Agatha Christie novel. I am crossing my fingers that this turns out to be true and we will be getting to see a new QT movie in 2015, a year already lining up to be a historically great one for films.
