Australian actress Radha Mitchell loves her sci-fi and horror — she’s already done SILENT HILL, PITCH BLACK, the underappreciated killer-croc flick ROGUE, and the upcoming futuristic Bruce Willis movie THE SURROGATES. And now she’s really gonna get nuts.
According to STYD, Mitchell has joined the remake of THE CRAZIES, joining kooky-eyed actor Timothy Olyphant in the new flick based on George Romero’s pre-DAWN virus movie.
The new version comes from director Breck Eisner (SAHARA), and presumably follows the same basic story: a deadly virus contaminates a town’s water supply and turns the residents insane with hostility, and the military attempts to contain the rage-infected victims. (Hmmm…)
