Raimi’s Monster Zoo

Now that we can finally kiss the SPIDER-MAN franchise goodnight (for awhile, at least), Sam Raimi has become a busy boy in the genre–and we’re all glad to have him back! Not only is he directing DRAG ME TO HELL, but he just picked up the graphic novel MONSTER ZOO to produce for Paramount Pictures!

Though only acting as producer at this point, Raimi has teamed with Josh Donen to produce the flick, based on the graphic novel by Douglas TenNapel. MONSTER ZOO tells the story of a young boy who discovers his local zoo contains critters much more frightening than the ordinary collection. That is, monsters.

Can’t tell if this will be a flick of the kiddie variety, or if it’ll be straight-up Ghost House Pictures horror as the graphic novel itself hasn’t been released yet. I’m guessing it will be aimed at kids, though we may luck out and they’ll go for a PG-13 level of monster creepiness.
