PUNISHER WAR ZONE pretty much tanked this weekend.
The film only made $4 million but that’s not stopping the sequel talk! Movieweb.com recently sat down with director
LEXI ALEXANDER and here’s who she thinks would be ideal to helm the next
film:
“She explained that she wasn’t intent on coming
back for a sequel, and if a third film does happens, she won’t be attached. She
wants Ray Stevenson (who plays Castle in WZ) to come back and direct a
third film. She says that he is very open to it, and that is the direction she
is pushing the franchise.
The PUNISHER directs THE PUNISHER? WTF not! I’m more interested as to whom
would write the next script to be honest. Actually here’s my dream RECIPE for
the next PUNISHER film if there is one: keep the
grounded feel that the 2004 Thomas Jane version displayed now and again, add Ray
Stevenson or Jane as Castle (I love them both), keep the gore of War Zone, get
Garth Ennis to write the script and lock Walter Hill to direct it.
