Last week we found out Wentworth Miller and Ali Larter would be joining Milla Jovovich and Boris Kodjoe in Paul W.S. Anderson’s RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE. What else do we know? We know the thing is going to be in 3-D, we know it’ll be released in Fall 2010 and we now know that the film has finally started production!
Not only that… but we’ve got all kinds of new details via a recent press release from Screen Gems and Constantine Films. In that press release we find out that along with Larter and Jovovich, Spencer Locke will also be returning to reprise the role of ‘K-Mart.’ We also learn that Shawn Roberts and Kim Coates join Miller and Kodjoe as newcomers to the franchise… but here’s the kicker: Wentworth Miller will be playing ‘Chris Redfield’ while Shawn Roberts plays ‘Wesker!’
Fans of the video games are sure to recognize two of the franchise’s biggest characters. It was speculated that Chris Redfield might finally find his way into the films with AFTERLIFE… but now it’s confirmed! Could this be because the crazy success of the RESIDENT EVIL 5 video game? Frankly I don’t know or care… but I’m now stoked for AFTERLIFE! Sure Paul W.S. Anderson is back as writer and director… and sure the whole 3-D gimmick is very much unnecessary… but at least the plot might actually be worthwhile this time around!
Production is currently underway on RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE in Toronto, Canada and we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one so be sure to keep it here for updates!
Who’s Hotter? Milla Jovovich (above) or Ali Larter (below)
