Them crazy bastards over at Bloody-Disgusting snagged a couple of fresh Official Pics from Hilary Swank starrer THE REAPING. The synopsis for this bayou based bad boy runs a little something like this:

A former Christian missionary who lost her faith after her family was tragically killed has since become a world-renowned expert in disproving religious phenomena. But when she investigates a small Louisiana town that is suffering from what appear to be the Biblical plagues, she realizes that science cannot explain what is happening and she must regain her faith to combat dark forces threatening the community.

Of course if it’s really the plagues that are bothering this town then it’s all part of God’s plan, so she’s really going toe to toe with the Almighty. Which would certainly force you to regain your faith, but I would think not it a good way. On the other hand, if it’s just some moron with too much time on his/her hands causing all the trouble though a little black magic – 2 x 4 to the head and problem solved. Lack of faith still intact.

Potential logic problems aside however, I’m always up for horror that plays with religious themes, especially when it features Hilary Swank in a sweaty tank top. Click on the teaser above for both new pics, or just click on her, um, smile below to get to the same happy place.
