VARIETY just reported that JAN DE BONT is now attached to
direct, writer/director ERIC RED’S (Body Parts, The Hitcher) script
“STOPPING POWER” for
Intermedia and German based Action Concept. The script is an
action driven thriller
that has to do with an ace car driver on vacation
in Berlin who sees his ride and his young daughter kidnapped by a ruthless
criminal. A game of cat, mouse, beat the clock and car pile ups ensues.

Having read an early draft of the script I can assure you that there
isn’t one boring moment in there, as the story is high octane from start
till the very end with RED topping himself in terms of novel motor vehicle
fiascos. If De Bont manages to re-capture the magic he had with SPEED on
this one, we’re in for one hell of f*cking ride! Props Red! PROPS!
