Reeves is Jekyll/Hyde

It’s not everyday that actors are able to play two characters in one movie, but that’s the case when said movie is based on the novel “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, Keanu Reeves wants a stab at bringing both characters to life!

The new film will simply be called JEKYLL, wiith REVOLUTIONARY ROAD writer Justin Haythe penning the script, and PUSHER director Nicolas Winding Refn at the helm through Universal Pictures and Red Wagon entertainment.

Reeves as Jekyll & Hyde… I’d never thought I’d see the day. I see Reeves excelling in playing roles that feature absolutely no emotion or any stretch of acting–but playing both an ingenious doctor and a diabolical madman? Let’s hope it’s not THE WATCHER all over again.

While the specifics haven’t been released, the story’s classic, so it’s really a matter of how much they plan on changing it, if they’ll modernize it to today’s time or keep it a period piece, and so on and so forth. The original story tells the tale of Dr. Jekyll, who creates a potion and becomes the evil Mr. Hyde when he drinks it. Again, I could never picture Reeves in the role in a million years, but alas… I’m proven wrong once again.
