Reflect: Dana Kippel writes, directs, stars in body snatching thriller

Dana Kippel has racked up an impressive number of acting credits in just two years, working on the films Hellhounds, Escape to the Cove, Death Face vs. Bikini Beach Party, I Die. You Live., and Cannibal Comedian, among others. Now she’s set to make her feature writing and directing debut with the sci-fi thriller Reflect, which she will also star in and, though Crazy Carrot Films, produce. The story Kippel crafted centers on a character named Summer, and that’s who she will be playing.

Summer, unhappy with her boyfriend, receives a mysterious email inviting her out to a spiritual obstacle course. Summer gathers her four friends, each battling a dilemma of their own, to drive to the Sedona Desert, where they are promised this “vortex” will improve their lives. They embark on these courses with the help of their uncanny guide Hermes, who leads them into a series of unusual practices. Little do they know they are being monitored by mysterious hooded entities, eager to take over their bodies.

Deadline reports that Kippel is being joined in the cast by Corey Brooks (who appeared on the reality shows Big Brother and Ex on the Beach) as Summer’s boyfriend; Grace Patterson (Psycho Storm Chaser), Marissa Patterson (A Corporate Christmas), newcomer Ariana Brown, and Jadelyn Breier (Hidden Springs) as her friends; and Joe Filippone (Collision Earth) as Hermes. Also in the cast are Eric Scott Woods (Avalanche Sharks), Ariana Williams (Shadowhunters), Ryan Jack Connell (The Breakdown), and newcomers Dash Katz and Maya Knell.

The IMDb page for Reflect claims that Diana Prince (Dary the Mail Girl on The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs) is also a cast member.

Michael DeLano of COTU Media will serve as executive producer on Reflect, which will film in Sedona, Arizona and the California desert.

I’m totally on board to check out a new body snatcher thriller, so I look forward to seeing how Reflect turns out.
