Just because Sam Raimi is busy directing some superhero movie doesn’t mean he’s completely forgetting about the genre. The Hollywood Reporter shared word today that Raimi will be producing a horror flick called REFUGE. The movie will be coming from Mandate, where Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures currently has a deal in place. So that’s how that goes.
REFUGE is about a remote town terrorized by a Yeti, the mythological creature native to the mountains of the Himalayas. It comes from the British duo of director Corin Hardy and writer Tom De Ville. Here’s an interesting note… the duo will work on a short film with the same synopsis as REFUGE in preparation for their feature. That short film will be for Blumhouse Productions. It’s basically to give Hardy an idea of what he wants to do with the feature film.
So what do you guys think? A Yeti monster flick from a couple English gents with Sam Raimi producing? I’m willing to give it a shot! We’ll keep an eye on REFUGE and will update you all as soon as we hear more.
