Reggie to direct?

Props to Daniel Robert Epstein for this news.

In an interview with ReallyScary.com, MANGLER REBORN star Reggie Bannister (who still owes Arrow that buttshot) chatted it up with the site about the project, including Reggie’s first foray into directing!

Reggie, who kept the trademark ponytail for MANGLER, says that he’d written a script a few years back with a couple of friends, and had given names of actors who he would’ve liked to be apart of this project. Now it appears that the script will be put to the test. “We’ll keep our fingers crossed because we hope to
get that running in the first quarter of 2006,”
says Reggie.

[The film is] called WORST FEARS. It starts off in the ’70s and it focuses on a young boy and his brother. Then it leaps into present day and has to do with the building of a haunted attraction and as they’re building the attraction some very unusual things begin happening. You can’t really tie it to one certain thing that’s going on because each person’s experience is very individual and very personal. I like pictures like that such as Polanski’s REPULSION, ANGEL HEART, MEMENTO and FIGHT CLUB. I like pictures that are psychologically frustrating for the observer.”

Sounds like it could be a pretty sweet project to be apart of. To read the rest of the interview, including Reggie’s thoughts on horror movies in general, his time on the PHANTASM series as well as a possible part in the sequel to BUBBA HO-TEP, click here.
