In today’s day and age of remakes and sequels it’s rare we get news on an original flick getting the go-ahead. Well let’s say semi-original…

Over at The Hollywood Reporter they’re dropping word that Relatively Media has just picked up DOWN, a script from first-time scribe Greg Russo. Ready for the goods? DOWN is a supernatural thriller that follows a guy trapped in an elevator. Oh that’s exciting! Seriously though if we can watch a guy stuck in a phonebooth for over an hour and be entertained, a supernatural elevator shouldn’t be much different.

The Reporter cites one person as saying the script is like BURIED meets 1408. Alright that’s one person’s opinion. And if that is indeed the case, I’m in! Considering I’m a huge fan of 1408 and all.

That’s all we’ve got on DOWN right now but we’ll be keeping our eyes open. As always, be sure to keep it here for updates!

I wouldn’t mind being stuck in this elevator…
