Thirty years after working with director David Cronenberg on his psychological horror movie DEAD RINGERS (pictured above), which starred Jeremy Irons in a dual role as troubled twins, actress Heidi von Palleske has joined the cast of the "twisted twins" Jen and Sylvia Soska's remake of the Cronenberg film RABID.

The Soska sisters announced von Palleske's involvement in their film on social media, sharing a picture of the actress doing some ADR work. In the caption they say, "Cannot wait for you all to see our nod to DEAD RINGERS in the film."

Laura Vandervoort stars in the Soska RABID as Rose, a character played by Marilyn Chambers in the original.

Following a disfiguring accident, Rose receives an untested stem cell treatment that, while it restores her beauty, has dangerous consequences.

The story is set in "the world of high fashion", and Vandervoort and von Palleske's co-stars include Ben Hollingsworth as a fashion photographer, Mackenzie Gray as an arrogant fashion designer, Hanneke Talbot as Rose's best friend, and AJ Mendez and CM Punk in unspecified roles.

According to the IMDb listing, von Palleske is playing a doctor in the film.

A Back 40 Pictures production, RABID is being produced by Michael Walker, Paul Lalonde, and John Vidette. Scream Factory will be distributing the film across multiple platforms in the United States. A71 Entertainment will be distributing RABID in Canada, with 101 Films distributing it in the United Kingdom.

The Soskas directed the film from a screenplay they wrote with John Serge. AMERICAN PSYCHO director Mary Harron gave the duo notes after viewing a rough cut of the remake.

Hopefully it won't be much longer before we hear a release date for this one.
