Remaking Rec already

JoBloJoBlo

Well this didn’t take long. The Spanish-language “first-person” zombie flick [REC] just started building some solid buzz, and it’s already been snapped up for a Hollywood remake.

Screen Gems and remake machine Roy Lee will handle their own version of the horror flick, about a reporter stuck in an LA apartment building during a particularly nasty viral outbreak. The title refers to the terrifying footage recorded by her cameraman. The original movie comes from directors Jaume Balagueró (THE DARK) and Paco Plaza (ROMASANTA).

The new rampant rabies will come courtesy of John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle, who made the disturbing serial killer indie THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES.
