Revealer trailer: Tim Seeley co-wrote apocalyptic horror film coming to Shudder in June

The Shudder streaming service has announcedJune 23 release date for the apocalyptic horror film Revealer – and along with the release date news comes the unveiling of a trailer for the film, which you can check out in the embed above. The feature directorial debut of Luke Boyce, Revealer was written by bestselling comic book authors Tim Seeley and Michael Moreci. The film is set in

Chicago, 1987 as we follow Angie Pittarelli on a typical work day. Angie works as a dancer at the Revealers Bookstore peep show booth. When an uprising takes place outside the store, her boss is killed in an altercation, leaving Angie stranded inside the booth, unable to escape. To make matters worse, hiding out in the booth next to hers is none other than Sally Mewbourne, an overzealous religious protester that seems to get a kick out of regularly harassing Angie. Sally believes the apocalypse is nigh and the rapture has occurred, which sends her into a bit of a tizzy. Angie and Sally are forced to figure out how to work together to escape and navigate the treacherous bootlegger tunnels below the store to survive the unthinkable.

Revealer stars Caito Aase (2 in the Bush: A Love Story) and Shaina Schrooten, who will also be seen in the upcoming Shudder anthology sequel Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge.

Shudder’s Craig Engler had this to say about the film:

Luke Boyce has crafted a darkly funny and surprisingly moving apocalyptic horror that we can’t wait to share with Shudder members.”

Boyce added:

We made Revealer as the entire shift of the world changed beneath our feet and we responded to that creatively. It is a movie that’s wild and scary but also heartfelt and emotional. It’s a neon-drenched, horror-filled call for connectedness and we are so incredibly excited to have teamed up with Shudder, a platform and community I love dearly, as the perfect home to share it with the world.”

Revealer is coming to us from Shatterglass Films and The Line Film Co. Scare Package‘s Aaron B. Koontz produced alongside Sarah Sharp, Robert Patrick Stern, and Brett Hays. Brandon Ballschmidt, Anthony E. Cabral, Anthony Cousins, David Ryzner, Ryan Urban, and Peter West co-produced. Seeley and Moreci served as executive producers with Kevin McGrail, Curt Newsome, Jennifer Shelby, Stephanie Slife, David Wetherell, and Laura Wetherell. Katie Zimmerman, David Peshkin, and Janet Peshkin were associate producers. Iman Sharabash was the line producer.

Seeley’s comic book work includes Hack/Slash and Revival, while Moreci’s titles include The Plot, Curse, Barbaric, and Wasted Space. The only one of those I’m familiar with is Hack/Slash, but I’m a fan of that book, so I’m looking forward to seeing how Revealer has turned out.
