Rick Baker designs cover for Bela Lugosi’s Tales from the Grave comic book

What do you get when you cross one of the greatest special effects makeup artists with one of the horror icons biggest icons? One hell of a cool comic book cover! Makeup master Rick Baker (THE EXORCIST, AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON) created the cover for the second issue of “Bela Lugosi’s Tales from the Grave” comic.

Check out the artwork below. It was revealed by publisher Monsterverse at WonderCon over the weekend and made its way online courtesy of the LA Times. Baker created the “soul-stealing sailor” using ZBrush, while editor Kerry Gammill added the background and logo.

The first issue is available now, and this one is scheduled to hit comic book shops in July. The third issue is due out in October.
