With THE PACIFIER, I seriously thought Vin Diesel has neutered his career. Sure, after Arnold did TOTAL RECALL he did KINDERGARTEN COP, but that was with Universal and not Disney, and it certainly wasn’t a kid movie.
Whether this is a sign that Diesel wants to recapture the aire of badass action hero, or the fact that we may not see Riddick again (at least not with Diesel at the helm), Universal Home Video today released artwork for the RIDDICK TRILOGY, which includes PITCH BLACK, THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK and the direct-to-video animated prequel sequel DARK FURY.
The two-disc package (yes you read that right) will be available May 30th and will set you back $19.98. With just the two discs, you have to wonder what’s going to be included. Namely, will we get the unrated cuts of PITCH BLACK and CHRONICLES, the commentaries, featurettes and so on, and what the audio/video quality will be for two of the films, since obviously everything will be sandwiched in there, and something has to give. In other words, don’t expect DTS sound for this one.
