Ridley Scott has big plans for his EXODUS movie. Forget THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, Scott is aiming for the same scope as Darren Aronofsky‘s upcoming NOAH and has assembled one hell of a cast for his Biblical epic focused on Moses leading the Jewish people from Egypt. On top of the already cast Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton as Moses and Pharoah Ramses II respectively, Scott is close to signing Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver, Aaron Paul, and John Turturro.

According to Deadline, Turturro and Weaver will play the parents to Edgerton’s Pharoah, Paul would portray Joshua, and Kingsley would play a Hebrew scholar. I love every one of these selections, especially Paul. After his acclaimed turn in BREAKING BAD, many have typecast him in the punk teen role when he is capable of a heck of a lot more. The NEED FOR SPEED movie won’t prove it, but I bet this turn in EXODUS will.

Between Aronofsky and Scott, I am definitely more excited to see NOAH, but I cannot help but think about GLADIATOR. It looks like the big budget studio Bible epic is back and I think audiences will be in for one heck of a ride.
