So it has been a couple of weeks since anything really news worthy has popped up in regards to Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS. Well the man recently spoke about the film, and he did spill a few beans. What makes these beans interesting? Well he mentioned the film and ALIEN together, this pretty much gives us the ‘confirmation’ of sorts that we have been waiting for.
First up in this new write up, a bit of the CG and 3D technology was touched upon with Scott stating he’s “completely taken off into this cyberworld” and that PROMETHEUS is “the best time I’ve had in a number of years making a movie.” He felt comfortable enough to use CG and 3D for this however the man likes practical illusions: “I’m a great believer in filming the real thing if you can and so I did a lot of building the real thing.” Strong words there, and I have to admit that gets me excited to know and my anticipation builds.
He also mentioned that PROMETHEUS the title is a metaphor for a ‘higher being’, perhaps there is a bit of classic mythology at play. He spoke about the script “I think the reason why I haven’t attempted science fiction in a number of years is because I haven’t really come across a script that I really liked. This developed and came out extremely well.” Again this just gets me so excited!
Now for the tidbit I mentioned earlier and this is a potential spoiler so please if you do not want to know or have anything spoiled do not read on.
Still here? Okay, so the final eight minutes of the film turn into “a pretty good DNA of the ALIEN one.” So the final moments of this film will certainly have many clues, and the fact that he has mentioned ALIEN with it I think puts all that speculation to rest.

With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
The film will hit us next year on June 8, and it stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron (below), Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Logan Marshall-Green, Rafe Spall and Patrick Wilson.
