Last month Eric told you about a Swedish vampire flick that really caught his eye called LET THE RIGHT ONE IN.
He dropped the info on the flick and pointed you all towards the trailer (which can be found below.). It deals with a very touchy subject… children. Well to be more exact, children in a gorey, dark horror flick. It’s pretty violent and is aiming for an adult audience regardless of the young leads. The synopsis reads: Terrorized by bullies, lonely 12-year-old Oskar befriends a new neighbor, a mysterious young girl whose arrival coincides with a series of gruesome deaths and attacks. Though Oskar realizes that she’s a vampire, his friendship with her is stronger than his fear.
After reading up on that and checking out the trailer, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is definately one to consider. I don’t know, it sort of feels like what I hoped TWILIGHT would be, so with TWILIGHT looking like something to be found on Fox Family, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is very intriguing.
News coming in today via The Hollywood Reporter has Magnolia Pictures’ Magnet picking up rights here in North America. Score. No word on an actual date, but we’ll keep you updated.
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is coming from Tomas Alfredson and is based off the book by John Ajvide Lindqvist, who also wrote the script.
