Rob Roy (Liam Neeson): The Best Movie You Never Saw

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In the summer of 1995, two would-be Scottish historical adventure blockbusters went head-to-head at the box office: Mel Gibson's Braveheart and the Liam Neeson adventure Rob Roy. While Braveheart became both a blockbuster and an Oscar-winner, Rob Roy was only a modest success and was totally overshadowed by its competition. Nonetheless, it has picked up a cult following over the years, with Liam Neeson terrific as the highland rogue, with the concluding sword fight with Tim Roth (who received his sole Oscar nomination for the role) a highlight. Plus – the Rob Roy soundtrack is a classic. Join us as we revisit this little-seen epic on this week's Best Movie You Never Saw!
