Downey Jr. Halloween

Robert Downey Jr. is giving reigning Queen of Halloween Heidi Klum a run for her money. Well, OK, her worm this year is almost impossible to top, but the Downey clan’s commitment to their costume is something to admire.

As seen in the photo below, Robert Downey Jr. and company went as characters from Stranger Things, with the patriarch leading the way as Jim Hopper. Also featured is Downey Jr.’s wife Susan as Robin Buckley (in Scoops Ahoy form), in addition to several other family members filling out the roles of Steve Harrington (also as the Scoops Ahoy variant), deceased Hawkins cheerleader Chrissy Cunningham, Hellfire Club head Eddie Munson (complete with devil horns), and, of course, Eleven. But it’s not just the main heroes. There’s also the Demogorgon and Vecna, showing that the Downey family is all caught up on the Netflix show.

Robert Downey Jr. joins a long list of celebrities who got in on the Halloween action this year. Other than the aforementioned Heidi Klum (who, let’s face it, is untouchable), Kylie Jenner’s The Bride of Frankenstein, Lizzo’s Marge Simpson, and Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s Pam & Tommy were some of the more headline-grabbing ones.

What stands out for Robert Downey Jr. and his family is that the costumes feel so genuine. In other words, these aren’t the sorts of big-budget costumes that seem designed to land on the front page of a tabloid website. The picture clearly shows a family enjoying the holiday and getting the most out of the moment.

Downey Jr. himself seems to be a fan of dressing up, in the past turning up in dinosaur, tiger and bunny onesies.

What do you think of Robert Downey Jr. and family’s Stranger Things group costume? Which other group costume could they pull off?
