In looking at what new releases are coming to theaters, there are not many movies left this summer that I am as excited for as GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. With two kick-ass trailers released and a series of great TV spots, Marvel is upping the ante with a series of character posters. The first was shared by Fandango and showcases fan favorites Rocket and Groot.

Voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, I have no doubt that this pair are going to be the breakout Marvel characters and will be in every kid’s toy collection by September. This new poster uses an image we have seen in the trailers enhanced with some background shots of alien ships coming in for the attack. Unlike the full cast poster, you really can get a good look at the design of the characters here and a sense of how badass they are going to be.

There are plans for new posters to be released each day this week, so stay tuned as they pop online. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY hits theaters on August 1, 2014.
