Now we haven’t really been keeping track of Guy Ritchie’s ROCKNROLLA here at AITH, but we’ve got the new trailer over in our videos section for you all the check out. Plus you can take a gander at the new poster above.
I give my complete trust to Guy Ritchie. The guy is brilliant in my eyes and I’ve dug every flick I’ve seen with his name attached, so I’m down for ROCKNROLLA… but not only because Ritchie. I’m stoked to see Jeremy Piven as well. Piven’s one of my top actors, obviously ENTOURAGE being a big reason for that, so seeing him tackle a pressumably super-violent Guy Ritchie crime flick has me tickled pink! SMOKIN ACES is one of my all time favorite flicks and this seems to be down the same road!
Along with Piven the film also stars Gerard Butler, Gemma Arterton (below), Idris Elba, Thandie Newton, Tom Wilkinson, and Ludacris… so needless to say it’s jam packed in the cast department. The synopsis reads something like this: In London, a stolen painting pits some of the city’s scrappiest tough guys against its more established underworld players.
Wilkinson has done the big time bad guy in BATMAN BEGINS and Butler seems like he could nail any role. But like I said, I’m most looking forward to seeing Piven go nuts.
