Robert Rodriguez is one crafty bastard. The guy jumps from children’s adventures to gritty 70s throwbacks like it’s his job… Not many people out there have that kind of skillset. Whether you like the man’s work or not, you’ve got to admit that’s impressive. Today Variety dropped word on one of Rodriguez’s next projects and dare I say I’m intrigued by it?
The film is called NERVERACKERS and takes place in 2085. It centers on a character named Joe Tezca who is part of an elite unit dispatched to quell a crime wave in a theoretically perfect future society. Firstly… a ‘perfect future society’ in Rodriguez’s eyes? I’m down for seeing what that’d be like! Then you go ahead and throw in this crime wave and I’m definitely interested!
NERVERACKERS reteams Rodriguez with Dimension. He’ll be both writing and directing. It’s already pegged for a release date of April 16, 2010. Nice. Now all we’re waiting on is some key casting announcements to cement this one. Is it safe to assume Rose McGowan (below) will have a role? Keep it here for updates as we hear them!
