Somebody better call Paul Hogan, ’cause there’s another monster croc on the loose (I would’ve said Steve Irwin, but Moviehole used that already).
As you’ve probably guessed, Moviehole has news on the upcoming LAKE PLACID-wannabe called ROGUE (please no bitchy old ladies who feed the croc this time, please). John Jarratt, Radha Mitchell and Sam Worthington have all signed to star in Greg McLean’s next effort (McLean’s previous flick was the very fun WOLF CREEK). ROGUE tells the story of an American journalist (rumours persist it could be Michael Vartan of Alias) on assignment in the Australian outback who encounters a man-eating crocodile. Needless to say, not everyone the American writer meets walks away with all their parts mangle-free. Other lunchables (characters) in the film include a British couple and a girl from Ireland.
Jarratt and McLean worked previously together on WOLF CREEK, while Mitchell was with Denzel Washington in MAN ON FIRE and Worthington was in the running for some guy named James Bond. The $20 million flick begins its shoot November 7th in Victoria and the Northern Territory in the land downunder, and is looking at a 2007 release (no typo there, folks).
