Just over two years after it was announced that BURIED / RED LIGHTS director Rodrigo Cortes would be taking the helm of the Lois Duncan adaptation DOWN A DARK HALL, the project is now in production, with AnnaSophia Robb in the role of
a troubled teen with a haunted past who is committed to Blackwood, a mysterious school for gifted and disturbed girls.

We've known that Isabelle Fuhrman would be co-starring with Robb, and now we've gotten word of two more members of the cast: Rosie Day is signed on to play a character named Sierra, and Noah Silver will be playing Jules Duret, the son of the school's music professor.
Having never read the 1974 novel that this is based on, I couldn't tell you the significance of these characters, but the description of this being a supernatural mystery set at a school for "gifted and disturbed" girls does have me interested in seeing where the story goes.
The screenplay was written by Michael Goldbach and Cortes's BURIED collaborator Chris Sparling. The film is being produced by TWILIGHT author Stephanie Meyer, but I'm still willing to give it a chance.
