Been waiting for Eli roth’s follow-up to CABIN FEVER, friends? Well wait no more. Today Variety announced that his next project will be HOSTEL, partnering with THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE producer Mike Fleiss. Screen Gems will host the party.
Now the plot of this new little creep fest is being kept under wraps, but our friends over at Bloody-Disgusting have posted the potential scoop that it’ll be about a group of backpackers who get picked off one by one. This would certainly tie in with the info that Jay Hernandez (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) is in final negotiations to star – playing a traveler abroad.
If true, that would certainly explain keeping the plot under wraps as comparisons to WOLF CREEK would be nearly impossible to avoid.
Doesn’t much matter to me though. You could tell me that Roth’s next genre gig would be THE MRS. BUTTERWORTH STORY and I’d sign up since getting a true horror fan/gore hound behind the lens just doesn’t happen enough.
