Roth talks Trash

Gore-ninja and all around horror freak Eli Roth, while pimping the upcoming HOSTEL: PART II, had a chance to talk with MovieHole the other day,and talked about some interesting things, mainly about what’s next for the guy who loves to torture.

Having so much fun working on GRINDHOUSE‘s THANKSGIVING trailer, Roth wants to put together a flick that’s entirely fake movie trailers, calling it TRAILER TRASH! Check it: [I] so many ideas for either like steak movies or just terrible films that I’ll never make but that I think would be amazing trailers. And filming it was so fun because you get the satisfaction as if you made a feature. Because everybody just comes out remembering the best parts anyway. So you feel like you made a whole movie. And it’s all money shots. It’s like cheating. Like I got to just film the best stuff.

Writing the fake trailers with his brother Gabe, Roth says the flick will feature about 20-25 trailers, with a total budget of around $15M. No studio has signed on the dotted line, but he’s out shopping around as we speak. Sweet! While I loved the entire GRINDHOUSE experience, the fake trailers really tied the whole thing together, and I could definitely see sneaking in a sixer of High Life and watching an assload of fake trailers for a good time on a Saturday night… or any day of the week!

Though, with GRINDHOUSE bombing so hard, I doubt studios will jump all over it, but then again.. keeping the budget at an absolute minimum, it’s a shoe-in for profit.
