A new image has surfaced online that may or may not give us our first look at one of the raptors in JURASSIC WORLD. Keep in mind that with three films already released, it sometimes can be confusing when we are getting new reveals or edited images from prior films or games in the franchise. If this does turn out to be the real deal, fans should be pretty happy campers.

Colin Trevorrow‘s sequel to the Steven Spielberg produced trilogy has already revealed looks at Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard along with promises of new species of dinosaurs that will wreak havoc on screens next summer. The fan favorite raptors are said to be getting a genetic boost that should make them all the more terrifying than in the original films. This new image purports to show the raptors in what appears to be some sort of muzzle. It was posted on Instagram along with the following comment.

This is an actual Velociraptor for the upcoming film Jurassic World! #jurassicworld #dinosaur #universalstudios #StevenSpielberg #Velociraptor #HYPE

The upload was sent from Valencia, California, home to Legacy Effects who are working on JURASSIC WORLD. While Colin Trevorrow has validated rumors in the past about JURASSIC WORLD, we have yet to hear confirmation on this latest reveal.

If this does turn out to be the real deal, it would confirm the use of practical effects for the dinosaurs, something that made JURASSIC PARK feel more realistic than simply featuring CGI beasts. It also looks like Trevorrow is going to be honoring the legacy of the franchise rather than trying to make something less than spectacular.

JURASSIC WORLD is slated to hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
