The first full trailer for Jonathan Majors‘ comeback bid, Run Hide Fight: Infidels, a direct thematic successor (of sorts) to The Daily Wire‘s Run Hide Fight, is already making waves online. The upcoming feature stars Majors in the role of Clayton Saunders, a retired Delta Force captain forced to square off against a group of radical terrorists taking over a college campus. Run Hide Fight: Infidels will premiere exclusively on The Daily Wire on September 18.
Written and directed by Kyle Rankin, Run Hide Fight: Infidels is reminiscent of ’80s and ’90s action movies, though some may consider its subject matter too sensitive for the comparison. Unlike the lighter, quip-heavy Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicles of that era, Infidels appears to take a starker, far more deadly approach to its campus takeover setting.
The Citizen Vigilante comparison
Elsewhere, some are comparing Run Hide Fight: Infidels to Uwe Boll’s Citizen Vigilante, starring Armie Hammer as a man whose violent crusade turns him into a social media star but puts him in the crosshairs of local police. After viewing the final cut of the film, Hammer said he became distressed by the “hateful” and “disgusting” feature. Despite Hammer’s pushback, Boll stands by the film, maintaining that the actor was nothing short of a professional during production.
Majors carves a path back toward the spotlight
Run Hide Fight: Infidels is Jonathan Majors’ latest attempt to regain the Hollywood spotlight after a fall from grace for assaulting his former girlfriend in 2023. He’s secured a starring role in the supernatural revenge thriller Merciless from Martin Villeneuve, which tells the story of a woman overtaken by a malevolent force, and the top CIA interrogator willing to go to defeat it. Additionally, Majors will star in Dinner at Nick’s, a dramatic thriller from Mark Brown that follows seven friends, split between Black Democrats and Black Republicans, who gather for dinner after the 2024 election, as political debates escalate from civil discourse to fiery confrontations that test their friendships.
While Kyle Rankin’s Run Hide Fight: Infidels won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, it’s sure to make headlines for its extreme depictions of terrorist-related violence, and it functions as a comeback vehicle for Majors.
