Ryan Murphy takes on postwar Tinseltown in first trailer for Hollywood

Ryan Murphy, the man behind American Horror Story, Glee & American Crime Story, is bringing a new limited series to Netflix and it's all about the Tinseltown of the past in the first trailer for Hollywood.

The limited series is co-created by Murphy and Ian Brennan and follows aspiring actors and filmmakers in the titular town, post-World War II, as they try to make it at any cost. Murphy announced the project last year and he calls it his "love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown." Judging from the trailer, it looks like Murphy and team have paid great attention to detail of the period.

Hollywood stars stars David Corenswet as Jack, Darren Criss as Raymond, Jeremy Pope as Archie, Laura Harrier as Camille, Samara Weaving as Claire, Dylan McDermott as Ernie, Holland Taylor as Ellen Kincaid, Patti LuPone as Avis, Jim Parsons as Henry Willson, Jake Picking as Rock Hudson, Joe Mantello as Dick, and Maude Apatow as Henrietta. The series will follow each of these characters as they journey through the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day in the industry.

I'm pretty game for all things Ryan Murphy, especially when he puts his focus on limited series because I loved the second season of American Crime Story which focused on Gianni Versace and what led up to his murder by the hands of Andrew Cunanan. Darren Criss played Cunanan in that series and swept all the limited series awards for Best Supporting Actor so it's great to see him featured here as well.
