Ryan Reynolds says a Wolverine cameo in Deadpool depends on scheduling

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

If there has been one constant in the X-Men movies, it is Hugh Jackman. The actor has appeared in every single movie about the Marvel mutants since the Bryan Singer original, including a cameo in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. It was also in his first solo film, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, that we got our first version of Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds. Now, with Reynolds fixing that cinematic atrocity and giving us the DEADPOOL we deserve, wouldn't it be nice to have Jackman involved?

If it were up to Ryan Reynolds, the answer would be yes. While it is not a lock that Jackman can make it happen, here is what Reynolds told News.Com.Au.

“God I hope so, that would be really nice. I dunno, we’ll see. It seems like he’s open to it, but it’s gonna be more of a scheduling issue than anything else.”

Seeing as DEADPOOL has a history in comic books with Wolverine and their connection via X-MEN ORIGINS, it would make for either a cool nod or a badass way to connect the standalone Marvel movie to the rest of 20th Century Fox's cinematic universe. Whether DEADPOOL, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, and FANTASTIC FOUR can co-exist in a fictional universe remains to be seen, but for fans it would just be awesome.

DEADPOOL hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
