Ryan Reynolds stars in Everyday Parenting Tips set in monster-ridden world

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Deadline reports that Ryan Reynolds is set to star and Paul King (PADDINGTON) is set to direct a feature film adaptation of the New Yorker short story EVERDAY PARENTING TIPS by Simon Rich (which you can read here), about a father writing down advice on how to raise kids in world overrun by monsters.

Here's the official synopsis:

A father offers advice on what to say when their child says they believe a monster lurks under the bed — at a time when an ongoing Monster Uprising is actually happening in the world. The creature pandemic has unleashed the likes of Gorgog the Annihilator, Ctharga the Eater of Souls and a “giant, swirling portal in the sky that looks like a screaming mouth” that is simply called Drain of Ga.

The film will be written by Rich (who also wrote the short story that Seth Rogen's upcoming comedy AMERICAN PICKLE is based on), and produced by Chris Miller and Phil Lord (CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, CLONE HIGH).

Meanwhile, you can next see Reynolds in FREE GUY, set to be released in theaters December 11th…but we'll keep you updated about any changes.
