RZA does kung fu

JoBloJoBlo

It’s no secret that rapper The RZA loves martial arts flicks — aside from countless references to Shaw Brothers and old-school chopsockey during his Wu Tang Clan days, he’s also provided music for Jim Jarmusch’s GHOST DOG: WAY OF THE SAMURAI and Quentin Tarantino’s KILL BILL.

RZA is taking his obsession with the form one crane kick further toward the 36th chamber, writing and directing his very own kung fu flick called THE MAN WITH THE IRON FIST — which is being produced by Eli Roth. What’s more, RZA will employ what he’s learned from kindred kung fu junkie QT himself.

CHUD got verification and achieved further enlightenment from Roth directly, who says: “RZA’s script is amazing. He has been studying directing with Tarantino for years and he’s really ready to get behind the camera.” What’s more, it won’t be watered-down diet chopsockey — a bloody R rating is the goal.

Could this be an impending classic from a guy who knows the genre inside and out? Let’s hope so. Read what else Roth has to say about the project RIGHT HERE.
