Salem’s Lot remake from Annabelle Comes Home director on the way!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

After news about THE NIGHT HOUSE director making the HELLRAISER remake, Deadline is reporting that another classic horror remake has found its director! The James Wan-produced SALEM'S LOT remake is now going to be directed by the ANNABELLE COME HOME director Gary Dauberman, who is also writing the film. This will be his second directorial effort.

SALEM'S LOT, based on the Stephen King novel and the Tobe Hooper-directed 1979 original miniseries, is about

a writer named Ben Mears who returns to the town of Jerusalem’s Lot (or Salem’s Lot for short) in Maine, where he had lived from the age of five through nine, only to discover that the residents are becoming vampires.

No release date as of yet, but James Wan is still producing the upcoming MORTAL KOMBAT reboot as well as in pre-production on AQUAMAN 2.

So what do you guys think? Do you think this could use the big-budget IT treatment? Or do you think it should remain untouched? Either way, sound off below!
