Quentin Tarantino movies are cinematic achievements in one way or another. Every movie the director has made has been a homage to a bygone era of movies or done something unique with narrative that has not been done before. THE HATEFUL EIGHT is going to be Tarantino's second consecutive western and promises to offer something pretty spectacular.
Fan favorite and Tarantino regular Samuel L. Jackson has recently shared some new details about the experience in making THE HATEFUL EIGHT and revealed that making the movie was more arduous than we had previously known. Here is what the man playing Major Marquis Warren told Collider.
All of us are so anxious to see this movie because, every day, the work was incredible. It was taxing, in a very interesting way, because we were in the snow, at first, and then we get inside this room. Quentin shot on a refrigerated set, and it was 30 degrees, every day, in there. We were miserable in the environment. You could see our breath, but the stuff that we were doing was amazing. We would finish doing a scene and look at each other and just grin like, “This is incredible.” And we may be blowing smoke up our own asses, but I hope it’s as good as we felt like it was when we were doing it.
That right there is dedication to making a movie the likes of which we just don't see enough of these days. Quentin Tarantino is striving for something with THE HATEFUL EIGHT that is poised to make it one hell of a big screen experience, and I don't just mean because it was shot in 70mm.
THE HATEFUL EIGHT hits theaters this Fall.
