First it was the f-ed up psycho Billy, then it was Harry the crazy toymaker, then it was Gremlins, then it was a Santa-scarred boy also named Billy… the list could go on. What am I getting at? Well, I’m just trying to name all the horror-genre evil-doers that have attacked on Christmas Eve because we now have a new member to add to this naughty list—Zombies!
Yes indeed, Fango just received a heads-up from assistant director and actor BC Furtney (pictured above alongside the queen of horror) that principal photography is currently underway on 12-24. Yes, 12-24 is the title of the flick. And here’s what it’s about: The movie “concerns another one of our ol’ tristate zombie plagues and how a group of disparate characters deal with the walking dead on Christmas Eve.
In case you guys didn’t already know, I have a great affinity for horror set around the holidays, so I’m pretty pumped for 12-24. I can’t believe there hasn’t been a high-profile Zombie Christmas movie before! Plus, according Furtney, 12-24 is going to be a “super-gory film. There’s lots of bullets to the head, flesh-chewing, eviscerated animals and car crashes.”
Now get ready for some more good news! In case you couldn’t already from the pic above, the flick stars scream queen Tiffany Shepis (who we all have a horror hard-on for)! It’ll be nice seeing her, hopefully, kicking some santa-hat-wearing-zombie ass! 12-24 was written and directed by Anthony Colliano and also stars Scot Davis, Sam Nicotero, Devanny Pinn, Jimmy Sapienza and Rob “Stro” Kellum. No word yet on a release date, but I’m guessing some time in December. An official website will be coming our way soon as well.
