Saw 3D: The Final Chapter (2010) – The Black Sheep

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In 2004, Saw (WATCH IT HERE OWN IT HERE) reshaped the genre and brought in an intense and visceral type of horror that hadn't been seen before. It was a game-changer that put the character of Jigsaw up there in the zeitgeist alongside Freddy, Jason, and Pinhead. With the newest attempt to bring the series back to its glory days (Jigsaw being the first), Spiral: From the Book of Saw looks to be a return to form. Not only does it boast a talented cast (Chris Rock and Sam Jackson), but we also get the return of director Darren Lynn Bousman from the fan-favorite Saw II.

With Spiral: From the Book of Saw releasing this week, we've decided to tackle the "original" ending of the series with Saw 3D, aka Saw: The Final Chapter or Saw 7 (WATCH IT HEREOWN IT HERE). An over-the-top and schlocky entry, Saw 3D: The Final Chapter might not be the most intelligent or well-developed, but it delivers in the departments that matter. We watch a Saw film for great gore and a fun convoluted plot, which is precisely what we get in this "final chapter."

Directed by Kevin Greutert and starring Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, and Sean Patrick Flanery, Saw 3D: The Final Chapter has the following synopsis:

As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw's brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror.

This episode of The Black Sheep was Written by Andrew Hatfield, Edited and Narrated by Lance Vlcek, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

Favorite Movies: Too many to name, but I love the all-time greats, some read more trash, and the schlock in between. For every masterpiece like Shawshank, Jaws, or Casino, I also love movies like Warlock 2, Friday the 13th Part 7, and Trancers 2. I'm a film buff, not a purist.

Likes: I love movies, great food, and unique pets. I’m a lifelong read more film lover, a proud owner of four sugar gliders, and a master of crafting a damn fine Chicago-style pizza.
