Saw IV updates

It must be disclosed that I haven’t seen SAW III yet, so I’m not sure how shocking and unexpected this news is, but it does indeed seem to be substantial. Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Shawnee Smith, who played the villainous Jigsaw’s protégé Amanda in parts 2 and 3, is apparently going to appear in the just-wrapped SAW IV.

The catch is – if she is indeed in it – she will only be seen in flashbacks. Furthermore, BD stresses that Jigsaw himself is actually IN the movie, as opposed to just being seen on monitors.

Again, I’m unfortunately at a disadvantage; I don’t know what transpires at the end of 3 – but I’m sure many of you do. I’m guessing it ends with Shawnee dead and Jigsaw unaccounted for? I suppose I’ll have to check it out. While I didn’t really dig on the first SAW, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the 2nd one. To me it had a better screenplay and better performances – especially Shawnee’s fantastic turn.

What do you folks think? Is this news cool? Are you ready for more Jigsaw – or should the series have been put in the ground already?

And how could anyone throw THIS into a pit of syringes?
