You guys remember David Hackl right? Of course you do. He’s the guy that brought us that monstrousity that was SAW V. Alright… So maybe it wasn’t that bad, but it came pretty damn close.
Well the flick did good enough to keep getting Hackl work so we’re going to roll with it. You see, Hackl (above) already has a couple of projects lined up in RED MACHINE and THE BUTCHER BRIDE but I’m here today to tell you all about yet another project the director has signed on for. I’m talking about a little flick called STRAIN.
The guys over at Bloody-Disgusting broke the word that Hackl has signed on to the project and they even treated us to a rundown of STRAIN! You ready for this? Of course you are! Check it:
Reunited at a destination wedding at a lush tropical resort, a group of friends take a day trip to a secluded island where they come across a monstrous new “strain” of a real-life predatory, deadly virus. As the “strain” overtakes them, they must face the awful dilemma of having to kill each friend who has become “infected”, to prevent unleashing the virus onto the mainland, and causing global epidemic of violent, horrific deaths.
Not too shabby huh? Sounds pretty vicious actually, especially the thing about the friends having to kill each other. What do you say? Does STRAIN have some potential or what? Be sure to hit us with your thoughts on the project below!
Now the only other detail we’re offered is that Jeff Howard and Mike Flanagan penned the script. So we’ve got a couple writers, a director and a plot crunch. What else do you need?? A cast perhaps?
