When the Sci-Fi Channel isn’t rockin’ us with their awesome original movies (awesomely bad, that is), they’re rockin’ us with their awesome T.V. shows (awesomely good). So color me totally stoked for the upcoming Sci-Fi series WAREHOUSE 13!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the hour long show goes a little something-something like this: It revolves around two FBI agents — rule-bender Peter and by-the-book Myka — who, after saving the life of the U.S. president, are relocated to Warehouse 13, a location that houses supernatural objects the government has collected over the centuries.
Described as part X-FILES, part RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, and part MOONLIGHTING, the show stars Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly (pictured below) in the title roles, and was written by Rockne O’Bannon (creator of FARSCAPE). They could probably also describe the show as part FRINGE, which just aired on Fox this week…
While I loved THE X-FILES, I’m not sure if following the whole ‘male / female FBI partners investigate the paranormal’ scenerio is the way to go… then again, it worked for Mulder and Scully, right?
At the end of the day, though, is whether WAREHOUSE 13 will be worthy of a whole season, of multiple season, and whether you’ll pick it up on DVD and get totally addicted. I’m all for getting addicted–let’s hope they can pull this off.
