Scott on new Blade

It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since BLADE RUNNER crashed and burned in theaters, only to be given a cult status after hitting video… and now we have the 5 Disc Collector’s Edition DVD hitting shelves December 18th, just in time for X-Mas, featuring the true and blue definitive version of the film, the way it was originally meant to be seen.

Director Ridley Scott had a chance to chat BLADE RUNNER with Yahoo!Movies, and had some interesting things to say about the film, and the trials he went through to get it made and the criticism he faced once it was released. Least to say he went through a lot, but lucky for us, he didn’t let that stop his career in it’s tracks, but kept truckin’ on. Anyway, here’s a little snippet of the interview:

“So out of it came a hybrid version of what I’d originally intended. Consequently … we had a bad opening, bad previews, confused previews. I was killed by some critics … then I thought it would be gone away for ever…
