Edgar Wright, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, anniversary

ATTACK HUG!!!

It's been almost 10 years since Edgar Wright's stylish adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s indie comic series Scott Pilgrim stomped on a pedal board and rocked its way into theaters. While the film failed to become a box office darling, the attitudinal comedy, in time, secured itself as a cult classic among a subset of cinephiles. Fast forward to yesterday, when during a SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD Watch Party, Wright announced that the film is heading back into theaters for its 10th anniversary.

While Wright was proper stoked to reveal the film's return to cinemas, he also noted that it might not show up in theaters in time for the August anniversary marker. That said, the filmmaker did promise that the event will happen soon, and that both DolbyCinema and Universal Pictures are excited to participate in bringing Scott Pilgrim back to the big screen in style.

If you've somehow managed to miss the geektastic cinematic gem that is Edgar Wright's SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, the film stars a young Michael Cera as Scott, a wiry jerkface who wants his cake and to eat it too. Upon meeting his new girlfriend, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Scott discovers that he must defeat her seven evil exes in order to win her heart. The superbly-shot adventure features a killer soundtrack, celebrity actors galore, and plenty of over-the-top comic book action that's guaranteed to blow your hair back.

Joining Cera and Winstead for the madcap adventure of the heart are actors: Chris Evans (Lucas Lee), Brandon Routh (Todd Ingram), Mae Whitman (Roxy Richter), and Jason Schwartzman (Gideon Graves), with Alison Brie, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Kieran Culkin and Ellen Wong also starring.
