Scotts fling some Poe

JoBloJoBlo

A famous work of macabre writer Edgar Allen Poe is getting dragged into the 21st century, and Ridley and Tony Scott are helping dispose of the body.

The siblings’ Scott Free production company is making TELL-TALE, a modernized take on Poe’s chilling murder story “The Tell-Tale Heart”, about a killer who dismembers his victim’s body and hides the pieces under the floorboards, and then believes the heart is still beating.

The movie will be directed by Michael Cuesta, who learned a few things about dismantled anatomy and morbid tone from episodes of DEXTER and SIX FEET UNDER. There’s no word on the specific approach to updating the material, but script comes from DOOM writer Dave Callaham and is ambitiously but intriguingly described as “JACOB’S LADDER meets MARATHON MAN.”
