Newbie scribe Sharon Scott has caught the interest of producers Daniel Alter and Howard Sun with THE SECRET DRAWER SOCIETY. The supernatural script is in development not only as a feature, but also as a line of comic books and a children’s animated series.
Yeah, you read that last part right, so presumably this isn’t going to be a particularly scary supernatural tale. Nevertheless, the concept is pretty cool:
Project revolves around the practice at East Coast inns of guests leaving behind letters — often accounts of encounters with ghosts — for future occupants to find. Scott’s script follows two sisters and their friends seeking to unravel the mysteries surrounding a hidden treasure.
Interesting enough, although I’ve never heard of the practice. You can be sure I’ll look forward to leaving a letter the next time I find myself in an East Coast inn with two sisters. Dear Guest, I never believed it could happen to me…
