Scouts Vs. Zombies Christopher Landon horror comedy Halloween

Paramount's horror-comedy SCOUTS VS. ZOMBIES has not been able to get comfortable in a release date yet, but its latest move may end up being its best. The Christopher Landon-directed flick was originally slated for a March 13, 2015 release, but was ultimately shifted to a more wintery February 20th. Not a drastic move, admittedly, but the latest one is.

Deadline reports that Paramount has pushed SCOUTS VS. ZOMBIES back nine months, to the very Halloween-friendly date of October 30th. Might end up being a good move for the film, but then again it could backfire: when October 31st actually lands on a weekend – as it does this year and as it will next – people are more apt to be out and about as opposed to huddling in movie theaters. But you never know; SCOUTS could prove a Halloween treat for Paramount, which has had late October success with its PARANORMAL ACTIVITY franchise. (Which, it should be noted, has been predominantly written by Christopher Landon.)

Worth noting: SCOUTS now opens a week after THE CONJURING 2. That's spooky competition.

SCOUTS VS. ZOMBIES stars Sarah Dumont (“DON JON”) as Denise, David Koechner (“ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY,” “ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES”) as Scout Leader Rogers, Cloris Leachman (“THE LAST PICTURE SHOW,” “Raising Hope”) as Ms. Fielder, Halston Sage (“NEIGHBORS,” “THE BLING RING”) as Kendall, and Patrick Schwarzenegger (“DEAR ELEANOR,” “STUCK IN LOVE”) as Jeff.
